# Sungrow

Part of the [compatibility overview](/integrations/compatibility), which lists every selectable Mains type.

* Modbus TCP through the **WiNet-S / WiNet-S2** dongle. Enter the dongle's IP
in the station; the setup steps are below.
* Supported: hybrid **SH** series (SH3.0–6.0RS, SH8.0–10RS, SH5.0–10RT
including -20, -V112 and -V122, SH5–25T). String inverters (SG series) are
  not covered.
* Only the total grid power is read; per-phase powers are not available.
Phase currents and voltages are taken as reported by the inverter.
* **Known issue:** with a WiNet-S the connection may drop when iSolarCloud
and the station access the inverter at the same time. Older models: use
the inverter's separate LAN port. Newer models: ask Sungrow for a dongle
firmware with parallel access (WiNet-S2 WINET-SV300.001.03.P014 with an
SH20T is known to be stable).

## Commissioning

Prerequisites: the inverter has a WiNet-S or WiNet-S2 dongle (or an
equivalent network interface), the station and the dongle are in the same
network or routed to each other, and you have the **installer (admin) login**
of the dongle's web interface. The installer sets that password at
installation; without it, ask the installer or Sungrow support.

1. **Station:** open the station's configuration, go to *Configuration →
Mains options*, set *Mains type* to `Sungrow` and enter the IP address of
the dongle. Save; the station restarts.
2. **Dongle:** log in to the dongle's web interface (customers often call it
the "Sungrow dongle" page) with the installer account. Go to *System →
Forwarding Configuration*, find **port 502** and enable **both** options
for it. This allows the station to read the inverter over Modbus TCP.
3. **Check:** in the dongle interface both toggles for port 502 are on; in
the station's overview the grid power and, for hybrid inverters, the
   battery values appear.

Notes:

* Port 502 must not be blocked by a firewall between the two devices.
* Give the dongle a fixed IP address, or a DHCP reservation, so the
connection does not drop after a lease change.
* With several inverters each one needs its own IP and Modbus setup; the
  station reads one of them.
