# KOSTAL KSEM and KEM

Part of the [compatibility overview](/integrations/compatibility), which lists every selectable Mains type.

* KSEM: Modbus TCP must be enabled on the KSEM (port 502). Grid values come
  from the KSEM. To read battery power and state of charge as well, append
  the PLENTICORE's IP separated by a semicolon, for example
  `192.168.1.20;192.168.1.21`, and enable Modbus TCP (SunSpec, port 1502)
  on the PLENTICORE.
* KEM C / KEM P: the meter is read through the PLENTICORE (port 1502, Unit
  ID 71). Enter the PLENTICORE's IP and enable Modbus TCP (SunSpec) on it.
* PLENTICORE G3: according to KOSTAL's Modbus interface description, the G3
  uses the same register layout as the PLENTICORE plus. Select the same
  Mains type `Kostal KEM C/P`. Requirements on the PLENTICORE: Unit ID 71
  unchanged, byte order left at the factory default "little-endian", KEM
  installed at the grid connection point (sensor position 2).
* Read-only, roughly every 3 seconds. The station never writes to KOSTAL
  devices.
